Greene County sophomore Kassie Lamoureux, a baritone saxophone player, was the lone county musician selected to participate in the All-State Music Festival, held last weekend on the Iowa State University campus.
Lamoureux was selected for the All-State Band, which was conducted by Dr James Ripley, director of instrumental music activities at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. A native Iowan, Ripley attended Luther College and was a public school teacher in Iowa for seven years.
The All-State Music Festival concert will be broadcast on Iowa Public Television Thanksgiving Day at 7 pm and on Nov. 25 at 3:30 pm.
